Garden Games

This time I saw a bougainvillea bush
Swaying and swinging in the breeze
I saw more than the twigs and thorn
 Pink-red flowers and dancing leaves

What I saw in the garden when
This time a bougainvillea swung and swayed
 A fancy duel was being enacted
 A naughty little game, being played !

Wind armed with invisible tricks
And an all-pervading open-armed embrace
Pinned down the healthy bush
Which, not worried, went down with grace

And mighty wind, greatly pleased with this
Released its hold of the armless hug
The bush, equal to the challenge, bowed
Back as if with a gentle shrug

And then to tease the erstwhile conqueror
Leaves of the bush made a flirting dance
Then wind came back with a stronger force
Now it seemed, the bush didn’t stand a chance

This alternating win and loss
This leafy flirt and faceless toss
Went on for an hour and quarter
And unknowingly made me smarter

This time someone made me see
A rare , new kind of beauty !!

Spectacular Indian July Panorama

Clouds are yellow and dusty red…
Trees are grey with black-blue leaves

sky is orange….buildings almost green…
and the roads are nearly blue !

This must be a July Sunset !!!

Now there are some white clouds…
Some dark brown trees and greenish leaves

sky…now is blue … buildings  light yellow
….and the roads are darkened grey…

July Dusk has fallen !

Oh ! ….the clouds are real dark now…
green-black trees with tree colored leaves…

almost no sky !!!
brown buildings and purple roads…

July monsoon has broken !!!

…no clouds ….and the trees are golden black
no leaves (???)

deep blue sky… studded with diamonds and rubies…
black buildings and slippery…shining roads !

Ah ! This must be a July night…..after some heavy rain showers !!!

….and once you have passed the acid test…

       of saying yes or no…..on merit…not self-interest..

             …you shall be a  happy ‘rebel’….we are sure…

          and this is the only cure for this world…..  yes…only cure !

  Always say yes to anything that is pure

      …and for this… you are going… to pay like hell… for sure….

 …but the joy of living….in the life of a rebel…

      is to speak out….comment…rebel…. “rings a bell ?”

Is School A Monster ?

This is a question that we all must answer…

Ask any average school going child

    Is school harsh on the ’system’…or is it mild !

   ( you’ll get your answer !)

When school is meant to teach and to educate

   then why is it  seen as a monster… let us investigate ?

A Square Peg in a Round Hole ?

Rebel is a square peg in a round…

or a round peg in a square..

(but most significantly….)

   a rebel is   un-wanted , this we found

     and a rebel belongs to nowhere !

but yet …………a rebel idea can be sound !

                but do we care …do we care !!!

Dilemma of a creative ‘misfit’ !

 

Dilemma

I want to see the trees…some birds and some flowers

   I wish to write a poem on these lovely …monsoon showers !

 

I want to run along the winding river… down till the bend

     I wish to  spend my life….with these thoughts…till the end !

 

But Who is going to understand….yes who shall approve

    if I do not fall in the line …if I am out of groove !

 

I wish to create……I wish to rejoice !

   But these hard market realities….do they leave me any choice !?!
